So, a guy from the internet company came out here yesterday, reset the phone line, and told us that our modem was fried, so we got a new one. Then spent over an hour on hold trying to get our order number (you literally can’t set up the modem without it, and the only way to get it is to call them), then one we got that, the next step required our username and password – we put them in exactly as we were given, and IT DIDN’T WORK. So because the call centre people had all left, we had to wait until today to call again and ask them about it.  2 long holds later, we finally get through. Turns out they gave us the wrong username. Aren’t they helpful like that?

Anyway, point is, painful installation is finally over, and we have our internet back! So hopefully I’ll keep in touch better now! Woo!
